Learning Technology

In partnership with the Faculty of Science departments-internal LT and IT teams and in close collaboration with the LT-HUB, CTLT and UBC-IT, the Skylight LT team offers a range of LT related services and support including: LT eco-system support, LT consulting, LT innovation and LT-related research and evaluation.

  • We coordinate technical support efforts and issues resolution for learning technologies across the Faculty of Science and with partners at UBC central.
  • We provide personalized and customized guidance to help the faculty and departments select and implement the best learning technology to meet learning and teaching needs.
  • We conduct feasibility and fit analysis to ensure that technology use aligns with the learning and teaching experience needs.
  • We support pilots to test and refine new technologies, pedagogies, and concepts in a controlled environment before full-scale implementation.
  • We devise and execute long-term strategic plans for integrating innovative technologies (Learning Technology, LTs for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence) into curriculum and courses across all Science departments.
  • We conduct research studies to analyze how the use of technology impacts different aspects of the learning experience.
