  • Canvas

    UBC’s primary learning management system for creating and sharing online course materials, enabling student collaborations and discussions, delivering assessments, and managing grades.
  • CLAS

    A web-based application for students to add time-based annotations and comments on videos, images, and documents.
  • ComPAIR

    An online peer review application that allows students to evaluate, provide feedback, and compare their peers’ assignments side-by-side.
  • Gradescope

    An online grading system that supports collaborative grading among teaching teams. Grade assignments using customized rubrics, deliver feedback, and assign grades to students.
  • iClicker Cloud

    An online student response system for students to engage with class material using their mobile device or laptop. Instructors can collect and automatically grade student responses to gauge in-class attention and understanding.
  • iPeer

    An online peer review application that provides students with the opportunity to evaluate and provide anonymous feedback on their group member’s work and contributions using set criteria.
  • Kaltura

    A media platform that allows instructors and students to record, upload, and share video content directly in Canvas courses.
  • Piazza

    An online discussion tool that facilitates discussions in a question-and-answer format. Students can post and answer questions, help their peers outside of the classroom, and encourage discussion.
  • Respondus LockDown Browser

    A web browser that increases academic integrity by “locking” the browser and preventing students from navigating to external resources during a quiz or exam on Canvas.
  • Turnitin

    A plagiarism-prevention tool to determine the originality and academic integrity of student submissions. It compares students’ work to a vast database of academic sources and internet content to generate a report for instructors to identify potential plagiarism.
  • WeBWorK

    An online assessment platform focused on numeric problems and questions. Allows instructors to create or select pre-made questions with various assessment types. Strengthen understanding of concepts through automatic grading and self-paced problems.
  • Zoom

    A video/audio web conferencing and collaboration tool that allows individuals to host meetings and lectures online in real-time.
