
We have worked with the UBC Science community and our campus partners since 2001, expanding the body of theoretical and practical knowledge about teaching science and math while helping tens of thousands of UBC undergraduates expand the depth and breadth of their learning and classroom experience.
2025
- Skylight surpasses $1M in funding distributed through Skylight Development Grants.
2024
- Skylight adds an SES position in the Department of Microbiology of Immunology. SESs are now embedded in 8 out of 9 departments in the Faculty of Science.
- Launched the Skylight Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP) Working Group.

- Skylight hires a research analyst to advance work in learning analytics

- Launched the Online Teaching Series (in place of the long-running Science Education Supper Series)
- Developed the Science Online Teaching 2020 resource as part of Skylight's support of the emergency transition to online teaching
- Developed mid-course survey templates, canvas templates, and other online teaching resources
- Provided substantial support for the Faculty of Science strategic planning process, including a survey of all faculty, staff, and students
